Established in 2018, The Forget Me Note Project is a Registered Scottish Charity using music to enhance community, challenge isolation and enhance communication opportunities, particularly for people living with dementia.
The charity has three choirs. A Zoom choir, Choir in the Park and Indoor Choir offering opportunities for almost 200 people to sing in a choir each month.
The Trust was delighted to support the charity with an award to cover the annual running costs of the three choirs for one year.
Receiving funding from the Trust has ensured a very positive period for the project. The Zoom Choir has enabled us to reach out to people who are no longer able to attend in person. We have also seen an increase in the number joining our outreach Choir in the Park while our Indoor Choir has sung at difference venues and appeared with the cast of Dementia the Musical at the Festival Theatre which has led to the building of friendships beyond the choir.
