Fostering Compassion is a groundbreaking humane education project, unique in its approach to addressing the links between animal abuse, child abuse, elder abuse and interpersonal violence.
By sharing the stories of rescued animals, they encourage caring, compassionate, and nuturing behaviour in children.
The Trust was delighted to support the work of the charity by funding a series of 4 humane education workshops for young people aged 13+. At the workshops, the young people can learn about the needs of animals and the strengths and benefits of the human/animal bond to encourage empathy and compassion.
We are so very grateful to The Weir Charitable Trust for their support with funding for our Compassion for Life programme for older care experienced young people.Our main programme is aimed at children aged around 3 – 13 years so we identified a need for a programme for older children and therefore created and launched our Compassion for Life programme with the wonderful support of The Weir Charitable Trust which is proving a great success. Funding has been really difficult for us during the two years of the pandemic so we are incredibly grateful for their financial support.
