AWARDS MADE TO 60 SMALL CHARITIES AND COMMUNITY GROUPS IN LATEST FUNDING ROUND
Trustees have made awards to 60 small charities and community groups in the latest round of funding from the Weir Charitable Trust, with the average award being £2,436.
A total of 518 applications, each meeting one of the five qualifying criteria, were considered. Lorraine Tait, Trust Manager, said:
“The Trust received requests totalling over £10m, which is an indication of how tough Scotland’s small community groups and charities are finding life.
“This was a very competitive funding round but after careful consideration, Trustees have made 60 awards across Scotland.
“Applications are now being accepted for the next round of funding, which closes on 28th February 2014.”
Applicants should be aware that even if applications meet one of the qualifying criteria, awards (and the monies offered) are at the discretion of Trustees.
